And WHO cares?????
Apparently, I do!
I spent some time this weekend looking into how other people are responding to the new February bodyrock.tv workouts. In each video so far the host Lisa-Marie is wearing GRG underwear and trainers…ummm, only! There have been loads and loads of comments and of course many are being deleted – - rude comments should not be allowed anyway – & I don’t consider that censorship!
I discovered many female readers like myself who started going to bodyrock.tv when Zuzana was the only host and their recent response to BR matches mine. At first I thought it was my age – that I was becoming some old, square, grannypants and the new kids running the show were just at a different phase in life than me and I couldn’t relate – because I’m old!!!!!! I was happy to hear from a reader in her 20′s in Europe who is feeling similar and that age was not actually a factor – however, maturity – is!
and THAT, I think — is the difference between – - – a bikini and underwear. . . in public.
I came across the photo of the girl in the yellow bikini yesterday and that is what spurred the moment of this post. I see her as relatively close to the size of Lisa-Marie, not as ripped obviously but they have on about the same amount of clothing. Later I saw the picture on the right and also thought of the picture of LM on Bodyrock yesterday – - – so, I put together this little collage to show HOW I see a difference between a bikini bathing suit vs. bikini underwear.
In my opinion, each of these girls are basically covering and revealing the same amount of flesh. The visual issue is: the mons pubis – - – at least in this photo example. There are people in this world whose occupation is solely to design garments that specifically cover this region. The designers for sport and swimwear take anatomical considerations into their design and use of fabric. IMO, both of the bikini bottoms designed to be worn in public – gloss over the mound – it is neither distracting nor revealing. In this and other photos of LM on BR in other undies there is definitely a road map of parts is parts. YES. we all know what’s under there and that it exists!
Anyone making a comment ‘like this’ on bodyrock will be stoned as stupid old grannypants. It’s 2012 you should be able to handle this! Ladies, I CAN handle it AND just because bodyrock is FREE does not mean I have to just appreciate everything as is and just shut up and be grateful. The more I read ‘take it or leave it’ or ‘then don’t look’ – - – the more I am starting to feel like I should listen.
‘True Bodyrockers” don’t let camel toe, crotch shots and inappropriate workout gear get in the way of their workouts! And……. Zuzana used to ________________!!!!! I found many women online who like me, also had an initial negative reaction to Zuzana and her skimpiness – but her sweet personality overrode my closed mind. At some point people started complaining about Z’s sexual overtones and her cleavage, cleavage, cleavage! I thought back then that they took the comments into consideration and then did drop the tone down a notch. Since Z’s departure and Freddy’s gain of full control over the visual presentation of content – bodyrock not only went back to the more sexual feel – it crossed the line into. . . vulgar.
Ever since this photo was posted – I have not been able to take the site seriously. Who is the target market??? Me, or that creepy sexual predator dude??? From here it just kept going downward on the motivating scale for me, and then came February – 30 days of UWODs…. underwear workout of the day. [Don't get your panties in a wad]! I am feeling extra snarky today so I’m just going to say it – - – even in a leap year, which it is – - – you cannot have a 30 days challenge in the month of February!
So back to base, I like to be open-minded and I like to be surprised and knocked down when people are not what I thought at first. Zuzana is the epitome of this for me. I have enjoyed watching Zuzana rise up so to speak. People make horrible comments about her past. The past is in the past – it is what is happening in the present that matters. I like the course Z is on and her new ZWOW’s are fitness focused. I just had this visual montage of BR photos since the harlequin bra workout – it has been very prop heavy: underwear, tutus, trainers, poses, balls, PINK pink things – - – it is not the bodyrock of yesteryear!
Well – - – I still have a lot to be grateful for — to - bodyrock.tv — it has given me so many ideas and it showed me a new way to workout that I had not explored yet. I also love the archive library. It is a wonderful workout reference center that is valuable to anyone interested in body-weight exercises – and THAT is why I keep going back.
In a certain regard I get that it shouldn’t matter what someone is wearing or who the trainer is – working out is what is most important – - however, as cool and hip and open and modern as I want to be – - – I CANNOT get past the indecency factor of the new bodyrock productions sans Z. It is not what is used to be to me – it does not do the same thing for me – it does not provoke the same inspiration and admiration for me.
And another thing – - – I feel like people are saying – hey, she can wear whatever she wants BECAUSE – she is extremely ripped and worked hard to get that body – - – forgo decency and dignity – wear underwear – it’s super cheap, cute, colorful – new workout gear… emphasis on the cheap! Well now, they are in the Turks & Caicos – on the beach, in public and she is still in her GRG underoos! So, in 2012 am I to loosen up and get ready for underwear to now be acceptable beachwear?
I think if you want to be taken seriously in your profession you have to dress the part. If your chosen career includes presenting your body publicly up close and personal you need to take a little extra time to make sure your gear suits your activity. Bodyrocker Jess doing the “Fit Ass Exercise Challenge” in leg warmers, big ass earrings and garish make-up – instantly killed her career.
So THAT, is my PMS take on ~ What’s the difference between a bathing suit and underwear!!!!! Thickness, appropriateness, intended use, public vs. private, worn alone – - – etc!!!!!!
appealing — attractive — appropriate!
{but her eyes are creeping me out!!!!! – only noticed that after posting it}
